Like it: Green Beans in the microwave

Ever buy fresh green beans? Believe it or not, I have been dependent on canned or frozen green beans until recently. I discovered the easiest way to prepare fresh green beans, and because they stay firmer than canned or frozen, my kids devour them. First, rinse and drain those green beans.

Then, trim the ends. Just line up a few at a time, and cut! Throw into a microwave safe dish with 1-2 tablespoons of water and cover with a lid.

Microwave 6 minutes, check for tenderness with a fork. We like ours still a but crunchy, but feel free to add a couple of more minutes.

Drain the excess water, add butter, salt and pepper, and put the lid back on till dinner. They soften up a tiny bit more. And then, devour and enjoy.
